“Hi!” June and Antony replied. Mary stretched her hand and greeted Antony, then June. June and Antony looked at each other in astonishment.
Mary noted their amusement and started to say something. Then they all looked at each other and all burst out laughing, Mary more out of embarrassment.
“I am sorry Tony…” Mary started to say.
“For what, are we not friends?”
“I know I have been…!”
“Forget it! Anyway, I am happy to see you got over what was bothering you yesterday.”
“I didn’t get over it. It’s like getting a heavy punch on the face. I never thought I could be so stupid!”
